And since the body and headstock finish is beat up pretty bad, I think this spring it's going to get some Gorilla Vanilla! Man I can't wait til the weather improves, I have so many projects that are screaming for sealer, primer, and color! The switch for the neck pickup doesn't work so that will need some attention too. That trem and non-adjustable bridge are going in place of a repro Teisco trem to keep the vintage japanese vibe and I'm considering getting a modified Mustang bridge from Warmoth to keep it looking old but classy. I got it tuned up after trying for 10 minutes, then tried the tremolo and I was back to horribly detuned again. Just about all the tuners are bent but I think I can bend them back or just buy some new shafts.

'65 eh? Is there a serial # decoder for these or some kind of database for Teisco models?
#TEISCO GUITAR MJ HEADSTOCKS VERIFICATION#
Thanks for the verification Twangster, I knew you would have the knowledge. I thought when I first saw it on ebay that I googled ET-20C and actually got some hits of a Teisco by that model #, but when searching again I got the same as you Kurt. When it comes to teisco, "what twangster says" applies. then i realized i was looking at the one you got off of ebay. was about to go "duh, i found one, just look". The only other variation on this 4/2 model was called an MJ2-L which was the domestic Japanese catalog #. What do you think? Do I have an ET-200 or is there really such a thing as an ET-20C? Thanks for the help guit-gurus! Here is a pic of what mine looks like from another website:Īnd here is the ID tag on the back of mine that has the weird stamping for the model:

I've googled and found lots of tulips, some other body styles, and only a couple ET-200 labeled guitars that look like my newest acquisition. It was advertised as an ET-20C but I'm thinking that last digit is just a lightly or partially stamped "0" so it should be an ET-200. Hey there, just scored a new project (seriously, when is my episode of "Hoarders" going to air? ) and I need a little help.
